Jennifer McCloud is the SVP and Chief Advancement Officer for Starfish Initiative. In this role, she is a member of the executive leadership team. Jennifer provides strategic oversight, planning and execution of the organization’s development-fundraising initiatives. She also oversees communications and branding. A relationship builder, Jennifer’s goal is to create value for Starfish supporters, creating partnerships and opportunities to better serve the youth of Indianapolis. Formerly the Director of University Relations and Communications at Martin University, a private liberal arts university, Jennifer worked with the University’s administration to redevelop and implement a more effective communication and marketing strategy. Her role also included developing new relationships and strategies to re-connect alumni and past supporters of the University through a variety of initiatives. Jennifer, along with the university’s president, re-developed the university’s advancement initiatives, creating a new advancement department and its first ever endowment. She was also a member of the planning team that developed the Martindale-Brightwood Education, created to align educational, social, and health-related and safety services to families of children from birth to grade six.
Jennifer also serves a Board Member for the Beacon of Hope whose mission is to empower victims of domestic violence and sexual assault to become self-sufficient by providing safety, education and support.
Jennifer, along with her husband John were active in the Indianapolis youth sports community, mentoring young men and encouraging them to achieve both academically and athletically. Actively involved in her church, she has served in a number of capacities including local missions that serve the homeless community.
A native Hoosier, Jennifer holds an MBA from Western Governors University and Bachelors of Science from Indiana State University. Jennifer is married to John McCloud and they have two sons John McCloud “Jr.” a graduate of Davenport University, Grand Rapids, Michigan and James McCloud a student at Taylor University, Upland, Indiana.
